This children's book teaches the lesson of patience. Sam plants an apple seed and as he grows, the apple tree grows. When Sam becomes a man, his son also plants an apple tree. "Patience. It takes many years for a seed to become a tree, just like it takes many years, for a little boy to become a man.”Preview of book:It was a beautiful sunny day at Sam's grandfather's farm. He and his entire family were having a picnic together in the apple orchard. There was Aunt Kim, and his twin cousins Maisy and Daisy. Also uncle John-John who played the accordion and loved to dance. Sam's mother who had baked two fresh apple pies for everyone to share, and his grandmother who told the best stories ever. Sam loved to be with his family. He enjoyed chasing his young cousins around the apple trees. He strolled through the orchard with his grandmother who pointed out apples on low branches that he could reach up and pick.Sam was eating one of those apples as he swung his legs off the side of the picnic bench. It was crunchy when he bit into it, and sweet as he chewed on it. Apples, he decided, were his favorite food. When he reached the core of the apple he saw its seeds.
